What a 80 m² modular stand costs
European market rates put a full 80 m² modular build at roughly €13,200 to €28,000, which is about €165 to €350 per square metre — the same settled rate as the other large footprints, with the total driven by structure, height and finish rather than by area. The spread is wide because the structure is only part of the cost. Height drives it first: a stand with a three-metre fascia and a suspended lighting rig sits near the top of the range, while a two-and-a-half-metre wall system with structure-mounted lighting sits near the bottom.
Graphics are the second variable. Printed panels are inexpensive; backlit lightboxes cost several times more per square metre and change how the stand reads from the aisle in a way that photographs never quite capture. Furniture is the third — catalogue pieces are included in the figures above, bespoke joinery is not.
What the range does not include is the floor itself. Space rental at a major German show runs somewhere between €180 and €400 per square metre before the stand exists, and organiser fees for power, waste and passes are charged separately again. We quote the build; the venue quotes the rest, and we will tell you what to budget for both.
One thing worth weighing at this size: the system is an asset, not a consumable. Spread across three appearances the per-show cost falls to a fraction of the first build, since only graphics and crew recur. If your calendar has one show in it, say so and we will price the alternatives honestly — a bespoke build sometimes makes more sense for a single flagship appearance.

Two to two and a half days for structure plus a full day for graphics, lighting, rigging and dressing. This needs an early build-up slot and a fabrication schedule planned backwards from it, not around it.

How much does an 80 m² modular stand cost?
European market rates put a full 80 m² build at roughly €13,200–€28,000, about €165–€350 per square metre. The spread at this size reflects structure, height and finish rather than area — a largely open layout with mounted lighting sits near the bottom, a multi-room island with rigging and a raised deck near the top. Floor rental, venue power, organiser fees and travel are separate.
Is 80 m² too large for a modular system?
No — the profiles, spans and rigging integration are rated for it. But it is the size at which we most often recommend custom instead, because briefs at this scale frequently describe cantilevers, curved runs, acoustic separation or a second storey. A system stretched to imitate those costs more and looks worse than a bespoke build designed for them.
When is modular still the better choice at this size?
When the calendar repeats. A frame at eighty square metres is a substantial asset, and appearing at three or four shows a year with new graphics each time brings the cost per appearance well below a bespoke build every time. One appearance a year and the arithmetic reverses.
Can the frame break down into smaller stands?
Yes, if it is cut for it. An 80 m² system can be planned to rebuild as two separate 30 to 40 m² stands rather than as one reduced stand, which is useful if you exhibit at a flagship show and several regional ones. Tell us the full calendar before we specify, because this has to be designed in.
What can the stand run at once?
A meeting suite taking appointments, a seated presentation area, hospitality serving through the day and a full product display — simultaneously. The constraint is staffing rather than space; exhibitors who get the most from this size arrive with a run sheet.
How long does it take to build?
Two to two and a half days for structure and a full day for graphics, lighting, rigging and dressing. That exceeds most standard build-up windows, so we plan fabrication backwards from your slot and ask for artwork approvals earlier than at any other size.
What happens if graphics arrive late?
At this size, nothing good. There is no slack in the schedule to absorb it, rigging cannot be resequenced around it, and the fallback is usually installing the stand without a panel and fitting it during show hours. It is the single most common cause of a compromised large build, which is why we chase approvals early.
What is not included in the price?
Floor rental, venue power and organiser fees. At eighty square metres the meaningful separates are rigging point charges, crane or forklift access, daily cleaning, and additional crew where the build-up window is compressed. AV hire, staff, catering and between-show storage are quoted separately.
