What a 50 m² modular stand costs
European market rates put a full 50 m² modular build at roughly €8,250 to €17,500, which is about €165 to €350 per square metre. Fifty square metres is comfortably inside the range where the rate is stable, so the number moves with specification rather than with size. The spread is wide because the structure is only part of the cost. Height drives it first: a stand with a three-metre fascia and a suspended lighting rig sits near the top of the range, while a two-and-a-half-metre wall system with structure-mounted lighting sits near the bottom.
Graphics are the second variable. Printed panels are inexpensive; backlit lightboxes cost several times more per square metre and change how the stand reads from the aisle in a way that photographs never quite capture. Furniture is the third — catalogue pieces are included in the figures above, bespoke joinery is not.
What the range does not include is the floor itself. Space rental at a major German show runs somewhere between €180 and €400 per square metre before the stand exists, and organiser fees for power, waste and passes are charged separately again. We quote the build; the venue quotes the rest, and we will tell you what to budget for both.
One thing worth weighing at this size: the system is an asset, not a consumable. Spread across three appearances the per-show cost falls to a fraction of the first build, since only graphics and crew recur. If your calendar has one show in it, say so and we will price the alternatives honestly — a bespoke build sometimes makes more sense for a single flagship appearance.

How much does a 50 m² modular stand cost?
A full 50 m² build runs roughly €8,250–€17,500, about €165–€350 per square metre. At this size the number tracks specification rather than area: the difference between the ends of the range is largely materials, lighting density and whether the design uses rigging. Floor rental, venue power, organiser fees and travel are separate.
Does the stand have to fill the whole plot?
No, and at this size it should not. Leaving deliberate open floor at the aisle edge draws people in — a stand built to its boundary on all sides reads as a wall from six metres away. We normally hold back one to two metres of the frontage as approach space, which costs display area and reliably increases the number of people who step onto the stand.
What is the most important decision at this size?
Circulation. Everything fits, so the design is no longer about what to include — it is about what a visitor meets first, second and third, and where they are most likely to stop. Getting that wrong produces a busy perimeter and an empty centre, which is the usual failure mode here.
How many visitors and staff does it support?
Five to six staff working without crowding, and twenty-five to thirty-five visitors at once depending on how many are seated. The limit is rarely floor area at this size — it is how many conversations can happen before the noise level makes the next one difficult.
Can I have more than one meeting space?
Yes. A closed four-person room plus a screened informal area is a common pairing at 50 m², using around fifteen square metres between them. It is worth doing where you have both scheduled appointments and walk-up conversations, because one space serving both purposes tends to serve neither well.
How long does it take to build?
A day and a half for structure and a full day for graphics, lighting and dressing. Take the earliest build-up slot the organiser offers rather than the most convenient one — at this size there is no spare capacity in the schedule if something arrives late.
Does the system scale back down?
Yes, into 24, 30 or 45 m² configurations depending on how it was cut. Tell us the full range of allocations you expect before we design, because a frame planned to cover 24 to 50 m² costs marginally more than one planned for 50 alone and saves an entire rebuild.
What is not included in the price?
Floor rental, venue power and organiser fees. At this size the items to budget separately are stand cleaning during the show, which most venues bill per day once a stand reaches this footprint, and additional crew if your build-up window is compressed. AV hire, staff, catering and storage are also separate.
