30 m² Modular Exhibition Stands
Thirty square metres is where the trade-offs stop. Display, an enclosed meeting room, hospitality and proper storage all fit at full size, without any one of them being token. Built on a reusable aluminium system from our Frankfurt workshop.

What a 30 m² modular stand costs
European market rates put a full 30 m² modular build at roughly €5,600 to €11,800, which is about €187 to €393 per square metre — the point where the rate starts to flatten out, because fixed transport and crew costs are now spread across enough floor to stop dominating. The spread is wide because the structure is only part of the cost. Height drives it first: a stand with a three-metre fascia and a suspended lighting rig sits near the top of the range, while a two-and-a-half-metre wall system with structure-mounted lighting sits near the bottom.
Graphics are the second variable. Printed panels are inexpensive; backlit lightboxes cost several times more per square metre and change how the stand reads from the aisle in a way that photographs never quite capture. Furniture is the third — catalogue pieces are included in the figures above, bespoke joinery is not.
What the range does not include is the floor itself. Space rental at a major German show runs somewhere between €180 and €400 per square metre before the stand exists, and organiser fees for power, waste and passes are charged separately again. We quote the build; the venue quotes the rest, and we will tell you what to budget for both.
One thing worth weighing at this size: the system is an asset, not a consumable. Spread across three appearances the per-show cost falls to a fraction of the first build, since only graphics and crew recur. If your calendar has one show in it, say so and we will price the alternatives honestly — a bespoke build sometimes makes more sense for a single flagship appearance.
Designing for 30 square metres
What 30 m² actually gives you
Every core function at full size for the first time: a display run that shows a range rather than a selection, an enclosed meeting room that does not eat the stand, hospitality, and three square metres of storage. Nothing has to be traded against anything else.
Hospitality earns its space here
A coffee counter and somewhere to stand takes about four square metres and changes the average length of a conversation more than any other single element. Below 28 m² it competes with display; at 30 m² it does not.
Build time at this size
A day and a quarter for the structure, plus half a day for graphics, lighting and dressing. Still one build-up day plus a margin, which is why 30 m² is the largest footprint that rarely causes scheduling problems.

How much does a 30 m² modular stand cost?
European market rates put a full 30 m² build at roughly €5,600–€11,800, about €187–€393 per square metre. What moves a project inside that spread here is usually the meeting room: an enclosed four-person room with its own lighting and door costs several times a screened seating area of the same footprint. Floor rental, venue power, organiser fees and travel are separate.
Is 30 m² enough for a meeting room, display and hospitality?
Yes — it is the first size where all three fit at full size rather than in reduced form. Roughly nine square metres for an enclosed room, four for hospitality, three for storage, and the remaining fourteen for display, greeting and circulation.
Is hospitality worth the floor it takes?
In our experience it is the single most effective four square metres on a stand this size. It lengthens conversations, gives visitors a reason to stay while a colleague finishes, and gives staff a natural opening. It is also the element exhibitors most often regret leaving out.
Enclosed meeting room or screened area?
Decide by what gets discussed rather than by space. Pricing, contracts and anything under NDA warrant walls. Product and technical questions do not, and a screened area keeps the stand reading as open from the aisle, which matters for the traffic you have not met yet.
How much storage does it hold?
Around three square metres as a lockable room. Enough for bulk literature, packaging, coats, sample stock and a case of demonstration equipment for a multi-day show without anything living in a cloakroom.
How long does it take to build?
A day and a quarter for structure plus half a day for graphics, lighting and dressing. It is the largest footprint in the range that reliably fits a standard build-up without a scheduling conversation.
Should I buy the system at this size?
If your allocations vary between 20 and 45 m², yes. Buying the frame at 30 m² and planning the smaller configurations from the start generally costs less than buying at 20 m² and extending it twice, and the graphics survive the reconfiguration if the artwork is planned for it.
What is not included in the price?
Floor rental, venue power connection and organiser fees. Two are worth budgeting for at this size: catering supplies and servicing for the hospitality counter, which is a per-day cost most exhibitors forget, and waste removal, which some venues charge separately once a stand generates it. AV hire, staff and storage are also separate.
