Twenty-seven square metres is an allocation rather than a choice — it falls out of hall grids, and it takes one substantial feature well. A demonstration bay that visitors can walk past rather than around is what it does better than any smaller footprint. Built on a reusable aluminium system from our Frankfurt workshop.

What a 27 m² modular stand costs
European market rates put a full 27 m² modular build at roughly €5,200 to €11,000, which is about €193 to €407 per square metre. The rate is still above what a large stand pays, because one truck and one crew cost the same whether they are installing twenty-seven square metres or sixty. The spread is wide because the structure is only part of the cost. Height drives it first: a stand with a three-metre fascia and a suspended lighting rig sits near the top of the range, while a two-and-a-half-metre wall system with structure-mounted lighting sits near the bottom.
Graphics are the second variable. Printed panels are inexpensive; backlit lightboxes cost several times more per square metre and change how the stand reads from the aisle in a way that photographs never quite capture. Furniture is the third — catalogue pieces are included in the figures above, bespoke joinery is not.
What the range does not include is the floor itself. Space rental at a major German show runs somewhere between €180 and €400 per square metre before the stand exists, and organiser fees for power, waste and passes are charged separately again. We quote the build; the venue quotes the rest, and we will tell you what to budget for both.
One thing worth weighing at this size: the system is an asset, not a consumable. Spread across three appearances the per-show cost falls to a fraction of the first build, since only graphics and crew recur. If your calendar has one show in it, say so and we will price the alternatives honestly — a bespoke build sometimes makes more sense for a single flagship appearance.
Designing for 27 square metres
What 27 m² actually gives you
A demonstration point that does not block the entrance. Twenty-seven square metres is the first footprint where you can put equipment or a working sample at the front and still leave a route past it — below this the demo becomes the doorway.
The awkward middle
It is three square metres short of thirty and six above twenty-four, which in practice means it takes a four-seat table or a full demo bay, but not both. Deciding which one the stand is for is the first question we ask, and it is the one that most changes the drawing.
Build time at this size
About a day for structure, plus half a day for graphics, lighting and dressing. If the design carries a demo rig, allow extra for the equipment install, which is usually your supplier rather than our crew.

How much does a 27 m² modular stand cost?
Roughly €5,200–€11,000 for a full 27 m² build, about €193–€407 per square metre. Whether a project sits high or low in that spread usually comes down to the demonstration area: powered equipment needs its own supply, cable management and often a raised floor, none of which a plain display run requires. Structure, graphics, lighting, catalogue furniture, installation and dismantling are included.
Why is 27 m² offered rather than 25 or 30?
It is a product of hall grids. Venues lay out floors in modules — commonly 3 m or 4.5 m — and 9×3 or 5.4×5 plots fall out of that geometry. It is rarely a size anyone asks for, which is why most briefs we receive for it were written for a rounder number.
Can I fit both a demo area and a meeting table?
Not comfortably. A demonstration bay with clearance takes eight to ten square metres and a four-seat table with chair access takes about six; together with display, greeting and storage that overruns the plot. Pick the one the stand is actually for and we will design the other as a standing conversation instead.
How much storage does it hold?
Two square metres as a lockable room, normally placed at the far end of the display run rather than behind the counter. That position keeps someone restocking out of the visitor sightline, which matters more here than at smaller sizes because the stand is deep enough for the movement to be noticed.
How long does it take to build?
A day for the structure and half a day for graphics, lighting and dressing. If you are bringing demonstration equipment, its installer usually needs access after our crew finishes, so tell us early and we will sequence the build around it.
Does it work as a corner plot?
Well, and better than as an inline. A 27 m² corner gains a second approach and loses the natural back wall, which pushes the demonstration point towards the middle of the stand where it can be watched from both aisles rather than from one.
Can the system flex to other allocations?
That is the main reason to design for this size deliberately. The parts regroup into 18 or 24 m² and extend towards 45 m² with additions, which is worth having when the next hall offers you another irregular number.
What is not included in the price?
Floor rental, venue power and organiser fees, as at every size. The one to budget for here is the power supply itself: a demonstration bay usually needs a dedicated connection rated well above the standard stand allowance, and venues charge by rating. AV hire, staff, catering and between-show storage are also separate.
