Once you’ve booked your space, you choose how to build on it — and the build type drives cost, presence and reuse. This is about the stand you construct, not the plot you rent. Here are the main types, from lightest to largest, and roughly what each costs.
Tragbare Displays
Pop-ups, fabric and banner displays — the lightest, cheapest type, self-installed, ideal for small or space-only plots and quick presence. They trade presence for cost and simplicity.
Modulare Stände
Built on a reconfigurable aluminium frame, modulare Ständer look solid, reconfigure between shows and reuse across a calendar. They’re the sensible choice for most 9–36 m² plots. As a guide, 9 m² runs €3,800–€5,500 and 18 m² €5,500–€8,500 (a built stand’s price covers design, build, graphics, lighting, install and dismantle — not organiser floor rental, venue services or specialty add-ons).
Custom-modular (hybrid) stands
A reusable modular frame dressed with bespoke graphics and a few custom pieces — the finish of custom with the reuse economics of modular. It’s the build most regular exhibitors actually land on.
Custom stands
Fabricated for one design, maßgeschneiderte Ständer give layout freedom, distinctive architecture and finish control. They earn their cost at larger sizes and against strong competition. A 24 m² custom build with a meeting nook runs around €11,500–€15,000.
Double-decker stands
A two-storey stand doubles usable space on the same footprint — demos below, meetings above — for large exhibitors at major fairs. They need structural sign-off and start from around €34,000, rising with the build.
Choosing the type
Decide by plot size, how often you’ll exhibit, and your goal. Small or occasional — portable. Regular at mid-size — modular or custom-modular. Large, competitive, or a flagship — custom or double-decker. The right type is the one that matches all three, not the cheapest or the grandest.
