A bespoke build at a hundred and twenty to two hundred square metres runs roughly €36,000 to €200,000, a bracket wide enough to contain both a large single-level stand and a fully engineered double-decker, which are different projects at the same footprint. A large single-level stand with a rigged ceiling sits in the lower half; a fully engineered double-decker with meeting rooms above sits at the top.
The second-storey question deserves a real answer rather than a preference. A double-decker adds around sixty per cent more usable area on the same rented floor, which at a show charging €300 per square metre is a substantial saving against renting more ground. Against that: stamped structural engineering, a build-up that runs one to two days longer, stricter approvals, and halls that prohibit it outright. We cost both options on your actual floor rate and hall rules rather than recommending on principle.
Approvals govern the schedule from here up. Structural calculations, hall-specific loading sign-off and organiser approval for anything above head height are on the venue’s timetable, and no amount of workshop capacity shortens them. A brief that arrives late at this size does not get built faster — it gets built smaller, and we would rather say that at the first conversation.

How much does a custom stand between 120 and 200 m² cost?
Roughly €36,000–€200,000, about €300–€1000 per square metre. That bracket is wide because it contains two different projects at the same footprint: a large single-level stand with a rigged ceiling in the lower half, and a fully engineered double-decker at the top.
Does a second storey make financial sense?
It depends on your floor rate, and we cost both. A double-decker adds roughly sixty per cent more usable area on the same rented floor, which at €300 per square metre of floor rental is a real saving. Against it: stamped engineering, one to two extra build-up days, stricter approvals, and some halls prohibit it entirely.
What determines whether a double-decker is allowed?
The specific hall. Height limits, loading allowances and upper-deck occupancy rules differ between halls at the same venue, and a few prohibit second storeys altogether. We confirm before the design assumes one, because the fallback is a different stand rather than a modified one.
How long is the lead time?
Eight to ten weeks from signed design, longer for a double-decker. Structural calculation and hall approval have fixed durations that workshop capacity cannot shorten. A late brief at this size gets built smaller, not faster.
Can the stand hold a presentation programme?
Comfortably. A tiered demonstration arena seating twenty to thirty, plus a meeting suite running appointments in parallel, fits within this range alongside a full product display. Scheduled sessions work far better than continuous demonstration at this scale — a continuous crowd blocks the circulation the rest of the stand depends on.
Is any of it reusable?
Freestanding joinery, counters and some rigged elements. Deck structures and facades are engineered for one floorplan and one hall’s loading rules, so they do not travel. A build at this size is a single deliberate appearance and should be budgeted as one.
What happens if graphics or approvals slip?
There is no slack to absorb it. Rigging must be installed before the structure beneath it, approvals gate the build entirely, and the build-up window is fixed. We chase artwork approval earlier at this size than at any other, and we would rather over-communicate on dates than explain a compromised build afterwards.
What is not included?
Floor rental, venue power and distribution, organiser fees, rigging point charges, crane and forklift access, extended build-up crew, AV hire, staff, catering and daily cleaning. All are quoted separately and none is hidden inside the bracket.
